“The world is a book, and those who don’t travel read only the first page.”

— St. Augustine

Traveling itself is an amazing thing for all of us because it broadens up our horizons simply. You will see many beautiful sceneries you haven’t ever seen. Then you feel like you’re the happiest person around the world. There’s no way to describe the feeling but to experience the journey in person.

What’s your favorite way to go traveling? Traveling alone is the best way to explore the world based on my experiences which I traveled to Europe on my own for over 4 months in 2019. I get the most impressive memories in my life regardless of good or bad. I break down into 7 reasons why you should go traveling alone:

I booked a one-way ticket to Paris, step on Europe for the first time.

1. It pushes you to change

Have you ever thought to get away from your current life which is chaotic, stressful, and depressed? If you struggle in your life and you can’t see the end of the pain, traveling alone is the best therapy. It can reduce stress, calm your body and mind, and help you find a clear picture of your life. All you have to do is make the decision and leave everything behind.

I don’t mean you should be an irresponsible person and run away from all of the challenges around your life. In contrast, I encourage you to be a better person via an unexpected journey which makes you have a healthy mentality and be stronger than before. You should start the trip on the premise that you won’t bring critical effects to people around you. The first step is hard, but you will be grateful you make the right choice after finishing the solo trip.

I traveled to Seven Rila Lakes, Bulgaria, a place I never know but stunning

2.It gets you out of the comfort zone.

When you walk on streets in a different country, it means you are being away from the comfortable bubble of your home. No parents, no friends, you can only rely on yourself. This will challenge you in many different ways and force you to solve every single problem on your own. These experiences will make you grow as an individual rapidly. If you desire to see the change in you and the most impressive sceneries in your eyes, those difficulties are necessary. No sweet without sweat.

3.You will get to know yourself better

Do you have a close relationship with yourself? Have you ever confused about who you are? If you did that, traveling alone is a helpful way to discover your true self. You can be yourself and stop caring what other people think of you because you’re in an unfamiliar place where nobody knows you. There’re many factors that influence you to make decisions when you’re in your place. But once you’re out there on the road on your own, you can control everything by yourself. You will find out the real personality of you and make every single decision from your own heart.

I challenged the Camino Santiago, the scenery is the boundary between France and Spain.

4.Schedule everything for yourself

You can be the boss who controls everything on your journey. Sounds great, right? When you’re traveling with other people, you need to compromise going to some places and care about other people’s feelings. Conversely, you can have an adventure that is unexpected and excited when you’re traveling alone. Additionally, your time will be more flexible than you join a tour group.

You may suppose that is complicated to plan everything for traveling, like traffic, routes, and accommodation, etc. Trust me, you will remove every obstacle when you’re on the road. The experience can help you be a problem solver and a person who is good at organizing

5.You will make friends on the road

I wouldn’t say I’m good at socializing but I literally make some friends on my journey. Being a solo traveler is a good chance to make new friends. Traveling is like an outdoor party gathering many people from all over the world. Namely, the people have at least the same hobby which is travel. That’s normal that the people are interested in each other and have good interactions. So don’t be shy! Start a conversation with strangers first and you will appreciate you take the first step to do that.

6.Many surprises

You have no idea who you will meet in the next corner. Maybe is someone you met in the last city or someone you met last month. I start to believe a predetermined binding force between people when I was traveling alone. It was destiny brought you to meet every person on the road.

You have no idea what kind of feelings you will get when you arrive at the destination. Although you visit the tourist attractions where you have seen on the internet thousands of times, you still get the special feelings which are only you can understand. Besides, I suggest visiting some little-known places because those places will make your trip unique. To find the most impressive places in your eyes is one of the missions on your journey.

7. You will take a new perspective into the new life

You might find you have subtle differences after finishing a solo trip because you were a solo traveler who took courage and action to explore other countries. All the things you learned on the road, the challenges you overcome, and the tear you wipe are the nutrient in your life. These experiences can affect your career longer than you expect and boost your confidence.

I can’t guarantee your life will go smoothly after finishing a solo trip, but at least you know how to make delighted decisions for yourself. If you struggle with jobs or relationships, I believe you have approaches to solve those problems. Maybe the solution is not the best, however, that’s impossible to get perfection all the time. Like you out of there, you would rather keep going imperfectly than do nothing. We all learn the lesson on the road.
